K1 Fiancé(e) Visa

The K1 Visa allows a U.S. citizen to bring their foreign fiancé(e) to the United States with the intention of getting married within 90 days. This visa is often a faster route than the marriage visa.

Main requirements:

  • Relationship evidence: Must demonstrate evidence of having met your fiancé(e) in person within the last 2 years.
  • Marriage intention: Both must be legally free to marry and have a genuine intention to do so within 90 days after arrival.
  • Financial capability: The U.S. citizen must demonstrate the ability to financially support their fiancé(e).

Children under 21 can accompany the fiancé(e) under the K2 visa. After marriage, status can be adjusted to permanent residency.
